The will to live is a force within all of us and the fight for survival when our lives are threatened by a disease such as cancer is something our guest is all too familiar with.
A cancer survivor for 24 years, Shrenik Shah lost his ability to speak and lost his birth-voice forever. The bittersweet journey he then embarked upon allowed him to be heard and share his experience and unique understanding to empower others around the world.
Surviving cancer is anything but easy and in this episode, Rajan travels to India and talks to Shrenik Shah as part of the Fighters Season. Today’s podcast is a celebration of life and determination to inspire.
Cancer is the uncontrolled development of cells in a specific part of the body. These cancerous cells can invade and destroy surrounding healthy tissue, including the organs. In India, over a million people are diagnosed with cancer every year, with the number increasing rapidly.
About Shrenik Shah:
Shrenik is a cancer patient coach, author and patient care advocate in India. Having survived Larynx Cancer due to pinoeering treatment in India, he lost his natrual voice and gained a machine voice. He has become a recognised figure in cancer awareness.
