The existential question that we all will ultimately face, is not one of personal material wealth, but one of a lived life experience that goes beyond a concrete jungle. The stark reality is that we often find ourselves living in autopilot, often substituting our nomadic instincts for tamed, domesticated states of being, ultimately living quarter-lived lives and drastically impacting the ideas that shape future generations.

My next guest Bob Bhania not only defies social norms in his pursuit of adventure, but has enthralled in challenges that reshape our notion of what is possible. From voyaging to the polar icecaps through to the jungles of Papua New Guinea on the back of a commitment he made to himself whilst laying on a hospital bed, his is a story that will redefine the way you view yourself and the world.

People say what we are all seeking is a meaning for life. But I don’t think that’s what we are really seeking. I think what we are seeking is the experience of being truly alive” ( Joseph Campbell 1949)

I was born on the outskirts of Nairobi and spent most of my young life out in the wilderness of the red dust in the Savannah watching animals and looking at the silhouette of Mount Kenya.

The image of freedom has always stayed in my soul. I have taken that freedom attitude into everything I have done, from education to industry to sport.

This feeling of being alive has been enhanced by my adventures, reaching the summits of many of the highest mountains in the world. I have trekked across the Arctic to the North Pole and learnt much about myself. Antarctica, Vinson and Aconcagua beckon me to complete the Explorers Grand slam.

That said, I am the boring guy I hated when I was young. I no longer drink alcohol or eat meat. Never taken drugs or smoked. But by god, I live an exciting life. Being an International Basketball referee took me around the world and I made a lot of friends.

The above has allowed me to see business from a different perspective of enjoying everything I do and doing it well.

My passion is to help people achieve their dreams and to respect and protect animals from harm and ill treatment. To live an ethical and honest life and continue to seek out new adventures is my goal.
