In this episode – Explorer Rajan Nazran along with theatre actor and social activist Rajesh Gopie, plunge into the human experience of being a person of Indian origin in South Africa. In this special 3-part podcast, the pair meet with Ela Gandhi, a peaceful activist who discusses the big issues facing South Africa and her extraordinary life in pursuit of positive change. In part 2, we look at the issues surrounding racism, the riots that took place in South Africa, and how it shaped her as a person.

About Ela Gandhi:

Ela Gandhi is the granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi. She is a South African peace activist and was a Member of Parliament in South Africa from 1994 to 2004, where she aligned with the African National Congress party representing the Phoenix area of Inanda in the KwaZulu-Natal province. She was also very close to Nelson Mandela.
