What does identity mean to the average 16 year old? Let’s face it, on the fast paced environment we have self-elected to live in and high destructive polarising views around politics and business. The next generation is on the cusp of dramatic crisis that can reshape the way we look at each other and the planet at large.
Today I am joined by Saanvi Mylavarapu whose been on a mission to challenge the way we collectively experience the planet. Since the age of 6 she has hiked across 25+ national parks in the US, at 16 she climbed to Mt Everest Base camp and now has set up a society to bring the youth and nature closer together.
About Saanvi Mylavarapu
Saanvi hiked over 25+ National parks in the USA since the age of 6.
During Spring of 2022, Saanvi hiked Khumbu region, ascending over 11,500ft to reach Everest Base Camp (EBC) - 18,485ft , Kala patthar (18,550ft) and a few other mountains for the best and closest views of Mt.Everest and several other peaks.
Over the years, Saanvi has grown into a nature conservationist. Her efforts caught attention in schools and she is sharing her stories and is on a mission to inspire many teenagers.
Since Saanvi's effort is universal , she wants to inspire Gen Z ( especially girls), and spread the message to a larger audience.
Her father reached out to the Global Indian Series to help share her story.
About the Global Indian Series:
My name is Rajan Nazran Chief Explorer for the Global Indian Series, the official platform for people of Indian origin (PIO) and liberal minds, because let’s face it, we are everywhere!
For over 15 years I have travelled across the globe deep diving into 60+ countries whilst exploring the kaleidoscope of our remarkable 50 shades of brown community.
Voyaging to the edges of the Amazon, facing Ebola in West Africa, being held hostage in Eastern Europe, tapping rubber in Malaysia, drinking chai with Heads of State and sharing laughter with local fishermen – I have been there, looking for the ideas that re-shape a nation.
My purpose is simple, to build a living encyclopaedia of the human experience of the community and a safe mooring ground for open discussions, whether you are an NRI, Indian Diaspora, person of Indian origin (PIO) or a fan of South Asian anthropology, join in as we bring people and communities together.
How to get involved:
